I have to say every time Cate Blanchett steps out on the red carpet, she is one of a few that always catch my attention! Not like other beauties who wow the audience with her va-va-voom, Cate has some special that I admire her very much: she can carry off trendy fashion and still be elegant and gorgeous every time.

Cate Blanchette isn’t a high profile actress but that doesn’t mean she knows nothing about fashion and style. Case and point can be found on her recent promotion of her new movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”. Cate dressed up in Alexander McQueen golden dress few days before successfully made an amazing fashion impact, but this girl still brings the fashion play on and hit the rep carpet with the Balenciaga futuristic metallic dress Balenciaga Spring 2009 collection in the Australian premiere of “The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttonat” the Sydney Theatre yesterday.

The sleeveless futuristic dress with glinting iridescent silver surfaces  and futuristic synthesis of cutting is in fact a metallic solar panel -like art pieces and in precise a “sci-fi couture”! This marvelous fashion from Balenciaga Spring 2009  Collection is designed by Nicolas Ghesquière.

Cata Blanchette carries off the furturistic fashion trend of spring 2009 in a sophisticated way, she completes her look with simple makeup and hair style, a sliver cluth and gold strappy heels. Similar style can be found on Olga Kurylenko in Collette Dinnigan Spring 2009 at the Quantum of Solace premiere few weeks ago. But again Cata makes a impressive fashion impact with this iridescent futuristic outfit and DressLikeStarz would put Cata’s outfit in this week best dressed list !

In the thanksgiving night, New York City Ballet’s opening night gala in Lincoln Center was packed with well dressed ballet lovers and celebrities like Scott Whitman and Valentino Garavani. Instead of standard red carpet gown, a LBD with sparkling details that Sarah Jessica Parker chose is a marvelous choice that made her glow in the crowd and wowed the audience before the show started.

The sparkling sequin-smothered sheaths on Sarah Jessica Parker is from Balmain 2009 Spring Collection. This little black dress, added with rock-chic element that brought freshness and break the original evening gown style, yet appropriate in such a black-tie event, is a fabulous choice to repersent SJP’s chic and focal dressing style, in fact I think I kind of see Carrie Bradshaw‘s style again on Sarch Jessica with that Balmain sequin-smothered LBD. How about the shoes!? Every time when we talk about SJP or Carrie, we always talk about shoes!  This time Sarah Jessica made the futuristic call again by wearing the same Balenciaga point sliver shiny booties, and to finish the whole look, she opted for a very simple ballerina hair by pulling all her hair back to match the theme of this event!

Personally I love her outstanding choice on picking this Balmain LDB, and her sweet idea to match her hair style with the ballerina. Just one thing that may not get applause by some people is that the pull-back hair style may ruin the standard Carrie Bradshaw‘s breezy hair that we always miss! Agree?
