This Mary Katrantzou for Topshop collection is full of floral prints and it is perfect start for your new Spring wardrobe in 2012!

The nine-piece Spring Summer 2012 collection (priced between £40 – £350) is inspired by Mary’s mainline range for Autumn Winter 2011 so is certainly not ‘Katrantzou lite’. Expect to see the same head-turning collage prints and lampshade-shaped party dresses that the designer has become famous for since she stormed onto the fashion scene five seasons ago. Hyper vivid crystal flower brooches, lacquered Coromandel screens and Qing Long Dynasty floral motif china dazzle on satins, silks and jersey.

Recently I started a blog on elle.com.hk called “Life as an ELLE” girl talking about my work life in ELLE magazine Hong Kong.

As a fashion blogger, fashion is definitely one of the thing I talk about and my friends always ask me how to dress versatile and smart causal that you are even go for parties or dates after work ? My first tips to achieve such fashion versatility is accessories!

Let’s start with necklaces! A signature necklace can create a twist on your normal work outfits. I put on a star necklace from Topshop and match with a sliver skirt from Zara which stars prints and metallic  fashion items are the hot trend of 2011 Fall/ Winter fashion!  love this star necklace cos it looks like the Dolce & Gabbana star necklace of 2011 Fall/ Winter but in reasonable price and do strike the effect of sparking my work outfits!  One thing good about accessories is that if you think it is too much wearing it at work , then carry it in your bag and put it on after work for your party night and dinner dates!

It has been quite a long while I haven’t updated my fashion blog Dress Like Starz. So what have I been doing? Well besides the daily hectic work at she.com ( currently one of  top female online network that I am working for in Hong Kong) , I have done my crazy Christmas shopping in October and Novemeber, including lots online shopping on shopbop,  Topshop and ASOS, not to mention shopping for the fashionista to-die-for fashion item – LANVIN for H&M. So my dear readers please stay tune cos I will be bringing you my “Look of the Day” more often!

Last month I was hosting MOSCHINO Toujours Glamour perfume launch event and I made a toujours glamour look for myself , it was more like a rock and chic style that played an echo with the celebrity guest G.E.M. Among all items I really love the Gamlila Skovgaard chained heels as they are pretty but surprisingly comfortable! Also the crystals on Topshop Diamante Ruch Bandeau Dress matches the navy blue perfectly and it reminds me of  Vincent Van Gogh “Starry Night”.

Perhaps it can be one of the Christmas party dressing style you can have for out shining in the festive holiday! What do you think?

Gossip Girl fans attention! There is still 3 final episodes remain in season 3 of Gossip Girl, the past 2 episodes was a twist in whole season 3 and most fans would think that pity that Blair and Chunk were over, along with that there are also relationship problems between Serena and the bad girl Jenny and even Rufus and Lily, but I think it’s also a pity that the viewers’ weekly fashion pleasure and surprise from GG will end in 3 weeks! Perhaps fans can watch the replay before season 4 starts or review Dress Like Starz dress like Gossip Girl fashion and shopping tips to dress yourself like one of the Gossip Girl’s character!

When the monotone striped items become the hot and key fashion item for spring and summer 2010, which means you can see it everywhere, but what can you do to color up and look chic and out standing with those striped clothing, perhaps you can find more ideas on Kate Moss, or go with your fashion instinct and do the color matching instead! Cos in fact when I saw the picture of Kate Moss wearing piped Chanel 2010 resort red jacket and striped top in Paris last week, I smiled and told myself ” wow, I did dress like Kate Moss in a month ago!”, while back in February when I spent the Valentine’s Day and CNY in New York, I already did the same matching , piped red jacket with striped skirt from Topshop, matched with Alexander McQueen Lips top and over knee boots, to show you how I did the matching, I included my style look at  MET in New York City in the picture above, well any comments are well accepted of course and I hope my readers also like my style as much as they like Kate Moss’s style!

So next time when you put on the striped top or skirt or pants , try to ditch the usual and dull black or dark color matching, give a warm touch on your outfit with the color like red, orange, pink …. make yourself colorfully chic and go with your indistinct! Cos sometimes you can really dress like stars without extra style tips!
